America is STILL in denial,
but better.
Patrick Lockyer
America is STILL in denial DESPITE great improvements.
I see oceans of improvement in the hawkish love and trust
you all put in your President after 9/11. You were sick
puppies and seemingly still are somewhat but with signs of
recovery. You want to blame Hilary for backing the war when
it was treasonable not to. What's that about? You all were
compliant in saber rattling and seething to sock it to
someone like the playground bully might lash out at anyone
within grabbing distance and you all played nicely into
Georges need to show daddy how to get Saddam back. You as a
nation did that so accept in and go on. Do NOT use it
against any would be new leader. I was in Pensacola and saw
the gleeful boozy crowd swoon over the might of the Blue
Angels and saw few who might gasp and wonder at unleashing
that might at a broken dustbowl nation with no air or sea
defense after ten years or more of sanctions had reduced
them to poverty and disarray. Only now after all this time
of reckless waste of lives and resources do you as a nation
wonder at the decisions made in your name. You do NOT come
off as squeaky clean. Forget it. Come clean and repair is
better than denial. Watching that stupid ad for Guiliano
disgusts me and is a perfect example of the kind of leader
some still want to admire. I cannot envision such an
equivalent in the UK. Imagine, we taunt and aggravate the
IRA on public television and do it with a stupid smile at
the same time? We tell them that we are not going to let
them attack us again and that there will never be another
bombing like the one on Maggie Thatchers hotel in Brighton
again. Are you as a nation just plain stupid? Who IS that
advert for anyway? Is it for the gun loving couch soldiers
or the ones who make a good living out of the military or is
it for the Muslims who think we are biased and brutal in
supporting invasion and occupation of Arab territories?
Whoever it is for it is not very smart as it could BE a tool
for radical recruitment and to show that America is
completely in denial even six years later as to any missteps
that could motivate a suicide attack against us? I would
have been seething if such an advert had appeared in the UK
to motivate the IRA any further. Saber rattling did NOT end
the IRA terrorist attacks on England but talks and
incentives did and America has seemed to have learned
NOTHING from all that era obviously. Telling the enemy 'with
a smile' that they are sub human and that their grievances
are purely that 'they hate our freedom' is just right from
'the planet of the apes'. We are supposed to be smarter than
that? This 'new' self righteous 'would be leader' is scarier
than the present one but the real scary bit is that too many
Americans 'still' admire that 'shoot from the hip' 'Jesse
James' type mentality and it will continue to be one reason
that this great nation has done badly in winning the hearts
and minds 'globally'. You need a new type of leader and I
don't think you will see the right person BEFORE the final
count because you are all so PHONY. This is a phony nation
and the need is to be a compliant phony to succeed. You have
to pretend to talk to God. You have to pretend not to be
gay. You have to pretend to like guns. You have to pretend
to be brutal about the immigration mess. You have to pretend
to love all things military. You have to pretend to hate
Kerry and Fonda and Baldwin and Kennedy. You have to pretend
to love your fellow man. You have to pretend that money is
your other God. You have to advocate wealth is more
important than health. You have to have perfect teeth even
though you have an imperfect heart. You have to be good
looking to someone anyway.
