Monday night (12/19/05), fire crews were called to the Boyertown Senior High School for a fire alarm that was activated in the new athletic wing of the building. Fire crews from several local townships responded to the call, only to find that there was no evidence of an emergency. An eleventh grade student was near a fire alarm emergency switch, and as quoted from a student of Boyertown Senior High, was "playing with it." After the switch was activated, the student attempted to push the switch back up to disengage it, but the alarms were already sounding. The student left the scene in his vehicle and was not discovered until the next day when several other students at the high school were questioned about the night before. The student may be serving out-of-school suspension. Another student who witnessed the occurrence but did not report it may also have disciplinary action taken against her. |
