The BBB (Building a Better Boyertown), with the assistance of the JGSC Group, has released surveys for people who reside, shop, or work in Boyertown. The purpose is to evaluate the residents' and visitors' tastes in stores and other features of the "Main Street Area," which is defined as the area around the intersection of Route 73 and Route 562, and then use that information as a strategy to bring places of interest into the Boyertown community to help better the town's economy and overall well-being. The BBB states: At public outreach meetings in January, the Building a Better Boyertown organization announced a program to survey area residents and consumers about what kinds of businesses they’d like to see in Boyertown. Beginning Friday and continuing for the next few weeks, about 40 Boyertown area businesses and organizations will distribute more than 11,000 surveys to customers, clients, members and employees. This survey is not just for Boyertown residents. “We encourage everyone who lives, works, shops or dines in the Boyertown area to complete the survey. It’s your opportunity to tell us what you like, don’t like, and what will make Boyertown more appealing,” said Linda Flederbach, Main Street Manager. The survey will ask questions ranging from shopping and dining preferences, to entertainment and leisure activities, to perceptions of the Main Street Boyertown area now and for the future. Preferences expressed in the surveys will be used to develop strategies for recruiting the businesses that are best suited for the community. “This is a ‘growth by choice, not chance’ approach to revitalization,” said Joe Getz, general partner of JGSC Group, who is conducting the survey for Building a Better Boyertown. “These surveys will help us understand what the community wants and will help Boyertown develop strategies to recruit the businesses that the community wants rather than waiting to see what shows up.” The survey can be obtained throughout Boyertown, including Bause's Super Drug Store and the BBB Main Office. The survey can also be taken at www.boyertownsurvey.com, allowing for an easy and quick way to take the survey while on the Internet. |
