Hundreds of Corvettes showed up at the annual Corvettes for Kids car show that raises money for children in need on August 14th, 2005, despite the heavy heat and humidity.  This year, money was raised to support Alaina Derecola, a wheelchair confined eight-year-old who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy.  The show was held at Washington Township Elementary School from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, just barely dodging a heavy rainstorm.  Along with the money raised from registration and donations, various items were auctioned off to raise additional money.

Also included at the event was the world's longest hot dog, measuring nearly 57 feet, which was auctioned off for $250 with all of the proceeds going toward Alaina's fund.

Other events occurred throughout the day, including an appearance by Marilyn Monroe.  Overall, the event was a great success enjoyed by all the visitiors and raised over $2,500 for Alaina Derecola.
