Boyertown's Annual Sidewalk Sale Full of Exciting Events and Displays

Every year, hundreds of Boyertown's residents visit the sidewalk sale that is held on one of the busiest roads in Boyertown, East Philadelphia Avenue (Rt. 73).  This year was just as exciting as any with lots of music, games, contests, refreshments, and other entertainment.  Area businesses and organizations held stands that displayed their products or services, provided free samples, or offered various contests to promote their products and causes.  Fund raisers were held for area churches and organizations, including a pie-in-the-face event, the national Alex's Lemonade Stand, and last year's favorite, Fear Factor.

Participants in the Fear Factor event had to do various gross, disgusting, or challenging events to win money for their favorite charity.  Events included obtaining items from dirty fish tanks full of disgusting obstacles, digging for keys in a tank of 500 mice, and finding gummy candy rats from pans of pudding with their face, then eating the gummy rats.  All participants received $100 and two tied winning teams each received $500, courtesy of Fred Beans Ford.  Several local bands attended the event, playing their versions of some classic songs, or entertaining the audience with their own songs.  Other events included storytelling by Peter Bruckner, BASH Cheerleaders performance, Ellixson's Tae Kwon Do Academy, story time at the Boyertown Community Library and an appearance of Clifford the Big Red Dog.

Young and old had a great time winning prizes and buying cool things.  WZAR Internet TV would like the thank the two girls who served Zach with a delicious brownie at their lemonade and brownie stand near the Sidewalk Sale event.
