Gail D. Perona or the Pottstown Area was apprehended by the FBI on July 20th in connection with the Susquehanna Bank robbery in Boyertown on March 21, the Harleysville National Bank  in Gilbertsville on June 4, and the Citizens Bank in Limerick on July 14.  Perona is being charged with robbery, theft, receiving stolen property, terroristic threats, and reckless endangerment of another person.  Perona was sent to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on $60,000 bail.  Her hearing is scheduled for July 27 before District Justice Walter Gadzicki.

Perona was arrested on a warrant for bad checks.  After interviews with police, she admitted to the three robberies.  During the robberies, she approached the bank teller and demanded cash while threatening that she had a gun.

After being caught, evidence was taken from her vehicle which was discovered to have been recently painted since the robberies.  It is believed that Perona acted alone in all three robberies.
